Ottawa Fashion Week October 29th - 31st

Ottawa Fashion Week first came onto the scene as a platform for Fall/Winter '09 collections and has since proved to be a strong component of the city's style scene. Managed by a dedicated and passionate team, OFW is able to bring fashion to the arts community with each season it undertakes. OFW quickly established itself as a regular avenue for designers to present their collections and instantly captivated a continuously growing audience. As the event grows stronger with each successful season, its ambition and purpose remains the same: to showcase both established designers and newcomers in a community environment where they can join the rest of Ottawa in supporting the creative and multi-dimensional art form that is called fashion.

Music Review - Keek

Ottawa has an amazing local music scene and what better way to kick off the first issue of The Fashion Press print issue with one of the fastest growing local Ottawa bands, Keek. Having already gone head to head with the likes of Katie Perry, Sean Kingston, The Plain White Tee's, Far East Movement, and Bruno Mars and each time coming out on top, Keek is definitely worth checking out.

The 5 member band consisting of Connor Whitehead, Kyle Williams, Marek Lubanski, Matt Belanger and Kyle Megill have only been together for 8 months and have already dropped an EP, received consistent radio play on more then one station, and have a tour under their belt. There is no doubt that the pure talent in Keek and the dedication is paying off, and in such a short period of time.

The five member band is always playing shows around Ottawa and Ontario in general. If you have the chance to, go out and check out one of their shows. Its always a party and you'll be singing along in no time. Keeks music is a pop-rock fusion of catchy lyrics that people of any age can relate too, upbeat rhythm and killer guitar.

Fashion Icon - Vika Gazinskaya

Russian designer Vika Gazinskaya has the best style I've ever seen. She started her self-named label 4 years ago and makes the clothes she herself wants to wear. With a geometric asymmetrical haircut and soft clothing cuts, she has the most interesting visual look today.
