Hotshotcasino - Friday March 4th

Ottawa's own Hotshotcasino will be playing at Café Nostalgica this friday. After taking a four months "break", the band has decided that it's time to give their friends and fans a long-awaited sweaty dance party with no cover charge! They will also be joined by Yuri Bakker, a talented kid studying at Juilliard School in New York. He will apparently blow our minds away.
When asked about their upcoming show, bassist Greggory Clark says: "The plan isn't to play new music from the record in progress, but to lay down some groove, funk, jazz and blues that we don't usually perform. Yuri Bakker is coming up from NY to make this night really fun. We've played a few gigs with him on tour last October and it was probably the happiest any of us had felt performing all year. He's going to add some killer keys (think a la Herbie Hancock) and he'll also be spinning a set of electro music for everyone at the show". Still not convinced? Then hear for yourself by listening to the link below or click here to hear more of Yuri's electrifying sounds.

It will also be Day 41 of Pascal Huot's 100 songs in a 100 days project. Almost halfway there, the songs are getting stronger everyday. Seeing the show on friday is not only a good reason to support local musicians, but it's also going to be one hell of a party. So, I'm definitely excited and will be attending with my fish eye camera in hand. Stay tuned next week for photos of the show... in case you miss out on the party.
